This is a repost of my article on bub.blicio.us, where I dig into two online weight loss and fitness services, DailyBurn and Swedish ShapeUp Club. There are no longer any excuses to not get in shape, plus both the iPhone apps are for free! My heart beats a bit extra for these two startups, since I was part of the team which developed and launched Sweden’s largest online weight loss service Viktklubb.se back in 2003, and continued to work with it for four years. Great Bootstrapping Examples

I met with Tove Westlund, CEO and Co-founder of ShapeUp Club, for a while ago when she shared her startup story with other female entrepreneurs. From having been bootstrapped, forced to change the name at launch under a lawsuit threat from a large international media company, to see the first payments drop in, is a journey she said she will never regret. I’m glad to see ShapeUp Club evolving and gaining traction.
